Lori Kennedy has shared several stories with Angels on Earth, including “Amelia’s Gift” (March/April 2006) and “Pop’s Prophecies” (January/February 2007), but she’s not the only storyteller in the family. Lori’s son, Dan Kennedy, has just published Rock On: An Office Power Ballad, a memoir about the 18 months he spent working in the music industry.

Dan starts work at Atlantic records in awe of the “patchwork of people, albums and songs that changed, inspired and saved lives,” but the reality of the business is nothing like he expected. It isn’t always pretty, but it is hilarious through Dan’s eyes.

Mom Lori is, of course, proud as can be. “Dan’s doing a great job of promoting the book and already it’s in its second printing. You might see a resemblance there,” she jokes. “Dan was the child I could never get away with claiming was adopted when he embarrassed me.”
