Betty O’Brien of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, reminds us angels not only come in all shapes and sizes but in all types of weather too. Betty had just injured her shoulder in a car accident, but her driveway needed shoveling. “Our town had gotten a record 20 inches that year,” says Betty. “My neck and shoulder were still burning from the accident, and I prayed some kids would come along and I could pay them to do my shoveling.”
Moments later a man drove up to the house in a truck with a plow attached. He told Betty he lived on a neighboring street, and that he was out seeing if people needed help. “He had such a kind look in his eyes,” says Betty. “He told me he was clearing driveways for nothing, but I offered him ten dollars.”
Thanks to this Everyday Angel, Betty was able to ride out the snowstorm properly—inside with her chocolate-brown throw and a warm cup of tea!
